Week 20: ME & My View (Member Photos)
This week we focused on our surroundings. What is our view? As I thought about my surroundings, I came across this quote, which I think is a great reminder about the importance of a positive mindset.
"What we see depends mainly on what we look for". (Sir John Lubbock) I think the talented photographers in this group are doing just that... looking for the beauty that surrounds them.

Tricia Machel - Because I am the mom of 3 little girls, my view often includes holding their hands. At this stage, I hold their hands to help protect them, to give them comfort, to show them love. And as they continue to grow, I want to continue be there to support them, to be their teacher, coach, encourager, mentor, along with being their mom. They may not always need me to hold their hands, but they will always hold my heart.
Sara Lowing-Wright - Today I spent the whole day re-creating my space. I do this pretty often. I love rearranging furniture. It makes things feel fresh and revived. My mom always did this while I was growing up as well. We didn't have much when I was little. Very small house and basic furniture, but she made it so cozy and was always changing up the scene. I spent 15+ years moving nearly every year due to being in college and then moving out west, where I rented for 10-12 years. I LOVED it. I could move every year...seriously, I could. But, I'm a home owner now and we are in it for the long haul. So there's lots of internal change.
Jenny Parker - Yep, it's a daycare for one. More times than I can count, when someone new comes into our home, they say, "are you running a daycare?" And I always reply, "Yes, a daycare for one." Toys are in every corner of our home, no room is left unscathed, no floor space is open. Try as hard as I can to keep them all in one or two locations, they end up everywhere. I give up, because I just don't have the energy to care about it anymore. This time is short, and one day, I might miss all these toys. Just let me have my cup of coffee.
Tausha Coates - My husband and I road tripped to the west coast this week, the surroundings were so beautiful.
Lynette Davis - {www.lcdavisphotography.com}: Most mornings I stand in front of the window and try to organize my day. There's a deliberate blur because that's how I feel until the second cup. What?! Gotta keep it real.
Loren Haar - Me and my surroundings!
Briar Marie - On warm days in the Spring and in the fall, we walk the mile to school to pick up my oldest and walk home again. It's a haul, but it gets me some exercise and it gets them practice stopping and waiting for cars. This time of the year..this is definitely my view: A stroller, my three boys, a cup of goldfish, and endless dandelions which they collect for me. My middle little often comments that he just wishes I could have all the dandelions in the entire world because he just knows I love them so much. And I know they make a beautiful lawn into a mess, but he's right, they're sunny and happy and I do like them.
Jennifer L. Bruce - Oh no! I had to phone it in. Literally- and I'm still rocking the iPhone 4S! I was camping on a gravel bar on the Upper Chatanika River north of Fairbanks, Alaska. I got home in time for a shot with my real camera, but frankly.. I was exhausted. Camping will do that to ya!
Eboni Rivera - www.luxeartimages.com The car… or shall I say the dreaded mini van that I fought so hard against getting last June which has now become both my prison and safe haven. I spend a great deal of time in this thing. Dropping off, picking up, going here, going there, in and out, running errands, sitting patiently while my little one sleeps - the list goes on and on. But it's also become my place of peace and serenity. A place where I can escape to, where I hide for a few minutes of uninterrupted, quiet, me time. A place where I can do what ever I want, be it having a private conversation, crying my eyes out, blasting my music and singing [horribly] or putting on lipgloss to feel like more than just a mom. My daily environment usually consists of me sitting in this seat at some point or another for various reasons…
Nicole Fortney - He won't always be this needy, but his needs won't always be this easily met with a kiss, a snuggle, and a drink of milk. The baby days are exhausting, but they are simple. I'm treasuring the days of simple needs.
