Week 25: Leading to ME (Member Photos)
Cai Vail - asherandoak.com This week we signed the lease for our new apartment. We make do with what we have, and are grateful for everything that we've been blessed with in life, but to be honest, I cannot wait to move into a slightly larger home. To save money to buy a home in a few more years, we're currently sharing a tiny, dark one-bedroom with a toddler, a setup I would not recommend ;) Purging our life of unnecessary things, and giving ourselves some room to breathe (and finally a room for our little guy!), is going to be such a catharsis. Not to mention a little more light. This image is a fine example of the only natural light in our current bat-cave, some golden hour rays through the blinds in a corner of the bathroom.
Briar Marie - Funny thing about my leading lines... I blocked them. Ha! I chose this location because I've taken pictures of my kids in this spot in the evening with glorious results and I thought of it immediately. But... between the location and level of the camera, the sun, and me, I blocked all the beautiful lines of light from between the rails. hahaha! I did a few other versions trying to get it all together, but I still liked this one the best. And you can still see some of the lines :) Self portraiture in progress! Briar Marie Photography
Jenny Parker - I am pretty certain today is my last day being momma to one, so when I woke up, I drove to the neighborhood pool for this picture. I love being pregnant, the beauty in that growing belly, the months waiting for that little precious life to come into the world, feeling a little piece of you and a little piece of your love moving inside of you. It's something you share with no one else in the world.
Loren Haar - Thought I'd share my de-stressing technique. Once the kids are in bed and everything is quiet, before I tackle the sink full of dishes.... outside to play with the kids' toys! Whee! www.lorephotography.com
Adriana Meixner - The never ending list of chores...between laundry, cooking, cleaning, running errands, and driving the kids to their activities it's no wonder I even have time to indulge in my photography. And that doesn't even take into account my full time job and taking care of 'me' by exercising, eating healthy and sleeping well. I know most of you women know exactly what I'm talking about. So here I am having a quiet moment by myself while the kids are playing outside with their daddy and what do I do? Fold towels (pathetic) and sneak in a bit of photography as well (not pathetic), lol! www.adrianameixner.com
Emily Ingalls - I love spending time at the pool in the summer. In the Texas heat, it seems the only place to cool off most times. And this summer is the first time in many years I'm not freaking out by bringing the two oldest to the pool. My oldest is a good swimmer for a 7 year old, and my 5 year old can comfortable touch the bottom in the shallows. I'm not constantly worried someone's going to drown. I can play with them and just have fun for once. I can't wait until the day I can do this with all four kids. One small accomplishment at the time! www.emilyingallsphotography.com
Tina Huba - I'm not certain this will qualify or not for this week's theme /leading to me/ or not but I kind of drew a blank with the leading lines. I did get this amazing hat on Sunday though and have been using it in my self portraits this week.
