Week 39 Theme: "ME & The Tutu Project"

If you haven't heard yet about Linda and Bob Carey, it is a remarkable story about love, support, and inspiration. Years ago, when Linda was battling breast cancer, her husband Bob, wanted to do something to help. He helped her by putting on a pink tutu, (and nothing else), and going out to take photos to make his wife laugh.

From that, The Tutu Project was born. "Our mission with The Tutu Project™ is to raise funds for women, men, and their families to ease the financial burdens that come with breast cancer diagnoses."

From October 1 to November 3rd, The Tutu Project dares people across the world to wear a tutu, take a picture and donate.

To find out more about the project, and how to donate, go to http://thetutuproject.com/tutuprograms/dare2tutu-breast-cancer-fundraiser/

Each of us has been impacted by cancer in some way. Let's use our talent and love for photography to do something good! This week, you can go to the website and buy one of their tutus, or you can buy a tutu (I got one at Five Below cheap years ago) or use one that you already have and take a shot of yourself wearing it somewhere interesting. Tell how you have been impacted by cancer. I want to challenge you to be brave. Be bold! This project is all about stretching yourself and facing your fears, so let's do this! Don't worry about who is watching. If you can't go somewhere by yourself and you don't have the time to change your normal routine, then take a shot during your normal routine. Wear a tutu while shopping with the kids in Target if you have to!

I know a lot of you like to post your photos on your social media sites as soon as you take them, but please hold off until Monday, October 3rd. I would like all of us to bombard the internet (Facebook, Instagram, etc) with our photos that day. Use the hashtag #DARE2TUTU with your photos. (Please post them in our private Facebook group until Saturday Oct 1st). I also encourage each of you to donate to the project by clicking on the link above.

I cannot wait to see what you all come up with. As always, thank you for being a part of this project and sharing your photos and yourselves with me this year.

*If anyone would like to join us in this project, we would love to have you! Head over to our private Facebook page and ask to join. Or, if you just want to follow along for inspiration, you can follow the project on Instagram @jenkashak.
