Week 40 Theme: "In MY Shoes"
There is a proverb that dates back to the Cherokee tribe of Native Americans, who warned, "Don't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes". It is so easy to judge others. We all do it. We judge based on the things we see, but we need to try and remember that we don't know the back story. We don't know what it is truly like to "walk a mile in their shoes". That person zooming past you on the highway might have just got a phone call that a loved one is in the hospital. That person who spoke to you so rudely might have just lost their job. That woman in the grocery store that "needs to get her kids under control" might be a single parent who is exhausted trying to take care of the kids while also working two jobs. We need to look at people through compassion goggles.
This week, lets take a self portrait to let others know what it is like to walk a mile in our shoes. The shot can be silly or serious, however you want to interpret the theme. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
