Week 45 Theme: "ME & Reflection"
"Reflection... Looking back so that the view looking forward is even clearer".
There are only 8 weeks left of this project. (It will continue next year, but will become a monthly project... More info on that coming soon). I thought now would be a good time for reflection.
Let's look back... Let's think back to our reasons for starting this project. Why did you want to do it? What were you hoping to get out of it? What were you feeling at the beginning? How did you feel about getting in the frame? How did you feel about yourself?
Let's look at the present... How are you feeling about the project now? About getting in the frame? About yourself? What has made you continue with it? How have friends and family reacted to it?
Let's look at the future... Are there any self portraits that you still need or want to take? Are there any ways that you could push yourself through fear and through your personal boundaries even further? What do you plan to do with the images when we are finished? Do you have them all organized in one place? Let's not leave all these gorgeous shots in our computers! Let's make a plan to print them, and hang at least one on our wall!
*Even though those of us who started back in January are coming to the end of our 52 weeks, anyone can still join in. Even if you only take ONE self portrait this year, I will consider it a success. Each photo with you in it is one more than you had before!! Head over to our private Facebook page and ask to join. Or, if you just want to follow along for inspiration, you can follow the project on Instagram @jenkashak.
